OnePlus 8 Series
OnePlus launched two new smartphones last night. The first two phones of the company for the year 2020. Both devices are flagship in their own right and demand a premium flagship-like price. However, smartphones target a different audience. While the OnePlus 8 may still be a phone for corporate loyalists, the OnePlus 8 Pro has entered the arena of giants like the iPhone 11 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S20.

Let us discuss the differences between the two: OnePlus 8 vs OnePlus 8 Pro

Display
OnePlus 8 Pro comes with a slightly larger display than the non-pro version. The Pro has a 6.78-inch display while the OnePlus 8 has a 6.55-inch display. The most important aspect is the resolution of the display. Buyers of OnePlus 8 Pro will get 3168x1440 pixels (513ppi) compared to 1080 x 2400 pixels (402ppi) on OnePlus 8.
Another major differentiation on the Pro model may be the new 120Hz display panel. OnePlus has given the Pro version a better 120Hz display with a 240Hz touch sampling rate while the OnePlus 8 sticks to the same 90Hz refresh rate.

The camera
The next major change between the two phones is the camera setup. While the quad-camera setup is available in the Pro version, the triple camera setup is available in the OnePlus 8. Primary lenses also differ on both devices. While both have a 48MP resolution module, Sony's IMX 689 sensor is available in the OnePlus 8 Pro while the Sony IMX 586 is available in the OnePlus 8's main camera. Both are supported by OIS and EIS. The ultra-wide-angle lens is also different on both devices. While OnePlus 8 has a 16MP module, OnePlus 8 Pro has a 48MP lens. The OnePlus 8 Pro has an additional 5MP color filter lens.

Miscellaneous
The two biggest features that separate the two phones are the lack of IP certification on the OnePlus 8 Pro and the lack of wireless charging on the OnePlus 8. The OnePlus 8 Pro gets IP68 water and dust protection while the non-pro version does not. The OnePlus 8 Pro also offers wireless charging with charging speeds of up to 30W using the company's proprietary charger. OnePlus 8 only gets 30W Warp wired charge.

Connectivity
The device gets 5G connectivity from the box and other options are the same. However, the OnePlus 8 Pro has additional Wifi 6 compatibility. Cost
OnePlus phones have always been about more value for money, but recently, the brand has stepped into the premium segment as it is the best offer. The price of equipment in India has not been revealed yet. In the US, the OnePlus 8 8GB / 128GB variant costs $ 699 while the 12GB / 256GB variant costs $ 799. OnePlus 8 Pro costs $ 899 for the 8GB / 128GB variant and $ 999 for the 12GB / 256GB variant.
